After a few failed attempts with other vendors, I reached out to T&D Powerskills Training regarding our Transmission Training Program. Our program was in its infancy, and we were struggling to develop the content we desired. The T&D team had several training modules we purchased and still use today.

Recognizing our need to develop content more specific to our departmental needs, Ron Schenk scheduled a meeting with the ISPC team. Once meeting Mack and Jim, our team knew this was going to be a good working partnership. Their focus on safety, quality content and standardized teaching methods gave us the tools needed to build a program we’re proud of.

ISPC brought knowledge and experience specific to our Transmission Training Program. Their industry background drove our content development to success where other vendors had fallen short. Over the past 6+ years, our partnership with ISPC has yielded completed Transmission Helper, Transmission Apprentice, and Transmission Grounding Guideline curriculums that are training our workforce for the future.

Just wanted to take a second and let you know how much we love the EPT over here. I’d heard about the test previously, but we ran our own in-house thing and the company didn’t really want to incur the cost. We took a chance on a trial run and the thing is fire! The test itself is on point and all encompassing and in my opinion gives an accurate read on someone’s technical knowledge. I do still tend to call and go over or reword questions occasionally because there are a few questions that fall into areas that are governed by individual company policies and such, but I like that the test is set up to give the option of crediting an answer to someone that has the knowledge but might either have read the question wrong or just doesn’t test well generally.

We haven’t been able to use the back end portion of skills assessment just yet but we’re getting there and I like that the option to either take it or leave it is a thing. The test itself seems to be a living document and is completely adaptable to whatever purpose we need it to serve and that’s a very, very cool thing.

My favorite feature is hands down the reference back to T&D training modules where a candidate is weak on the technical end. Designating the year level of incorrect answers and the related T&D training module is proving to be an invaluable feature that I personally love. I used to do the same thing previously on my own and create custom templates in the T&D LMS, but this assessment does most of the work for me.
